Design solutions that matter.

To create products and services that meet customers' needs, put real people at the center of your ideation and development process. One way to do this is through human-centered design (HCD), which involves exploring people's lived experiences and emotions. By understanding your customers' needs, you can effectively tailor your products and services to resonate with them.

But to fully harness human-centered design, you need to clearly understand the how just as much as the what and recognize how your identity, privilege, and power may impact the design process. It also requires acknowledging and addressing conflicting stakeholder needs and interests, establishing design principles that can be applied to the specific design challenge, and incorporating governance into the entire design cycle.

A workshop for teams who:

If your team is involved in projects that encompass iterative prototyping, user feedback, community engagement, empathy development, or enhancing the customer experience, our workshop can significantly enhance your capacity to both accurately identify what needs to be built and execute it effectively.

In this workshop, you and your team will develop a designer's mindset through practical application. You'll learn how to mature and apply the following skillsets to the design process.

Self-Awareness
The capacity to be aware of, control, and express one’s emotions, and to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically
Intellectual Humility
Owning one’s cognitive limitations, a healthy recognition of one’s intellectual debts to others, and low concern for intellectual status.
Systems Thinking
A framework for surfacing the interconnections in a system; a discipline for seeing, mapping, and understanding the whole system.
Curiosity
To explore and understand, rather than make assumptions or accept things at face value.
Deep Listening
Tuning into empathy, dialing down the urge to judge, and listening in a way that other people’s points of view are understood.
Sustainability-Oriented
Design that balances short-term demand for returns with a longer-term need for sustainable design solutions.

What people have to say about our HCD work.

“We have been so impressed with our partnership with Propeller. Right from the start when we first met, to the end-of-the-engagement walkthrough of the work, has been really top-notch. We are so pleased we chose to work with a team that reflected our values and ethos as a company.”
