About Our Benefits
We believe in the power of smart, hardworking people who thrive in the face of ambiguity, harness change, and make momentum. People who do good work deserve great support. That’s why we are committed to providing our employees with the benefits, rewards, and support to help them achieve great things. Our benefits package is ever-evolving to reflect the diverse lives, priorities, and aspirations of our people.
- Employee-Owned
-
Our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) creates a culture of ownership where we’re working towards the same goals and employees think and act like owners. Historically, annual ESOP contributions equal 4-8% of base salaries.
- Supportive & Well-Respected Colleagues
-
We are an open and collaborative culture. Doing good work is a team effort. Every individual at the firm is here to support you and aid in your growth and success.
- Frequent & Transparent Communication
-
Trust is at the foundation of the work we do. We trust you to do good work, and our clients put their trust in you. We develop and nurture that trust with frequent and transparent communication.
- Sponsored Social Events
-
We like the work we do, and we like each other. From our annual offsite to happy hours, field days, dog meetups, trivia nights, and talent shows — there are options for connecting with colleagues.
- Community Involvement
-
We believe in giving back to the communities we live and work in. In fact, we have an entire initiative devoted to it. We show support through pro bono consulting, direct service, and employee donation matching.
- Work Locally & Hybrid Model
-
We work where we live — making more time for life outside of work. You’ll most likely be working with clients in your community. Occasional travel may be necessary. With a hybrid work environment, you’ll generally be splitting your time between home, your local office, and/or a client site. While flexible, we prioritize client service and value in-person connection.
- Flexible Paid Time Off
-
Time off is an important part of a healthy work environment. Each employee has an annual utilization hours target to meet and the flexibility to take time off at their discretion. On average, employees take at least 4-5 weeks off a year.
- Five-Year Sabbatical Program
-
After five years with Propeller, employees are eligible for a 4-week paid sabbatical. This provides an opportunity to take extended and uninterrupted time away.
- Health, Dental, Life, and Disability Insurance
-
We have your health covered with multiple plan options available. We cover 70% of dental and health insurance premiums which includes vision insurance and 100% of life and disability insurance. Additional health savings plans are offered that the firm contributes to financially.
- Wellness Benefits
-
In support of physical and mental wellness, we reimburse up to $75 a month for wellness expenses whether that’s a gym membership, home equipment, or nutritional counseling. We’re here to support your whole health.
- Mental Health Support
-
To help you thrive, we provide mental health and wellness support through mindfulness apps (Headspace), behavioral support with video and text therapy (Ginger), and in-person psychiatric sessions through a traditional EAP.
- Parental Leave & Family Planning Benefits
-
To support families in all their stages and forms, we offer paid parental leave and fertility and adoption benefits, as well as an annual $750 per child childcare bonus to offset expenses.
- Critical Care & Gender Affirmation
-
As an inclusive employer, we embrace the needs of all our employees. Our Gender Affirmation Treatment Reimbursement Program supports employees who are receiving treatment that may not be covered by other insurance. Additionally, we provide reimbursement for critical medical care services that may be unavailable in some employees' home states.

- Competitive Salary & Incentive Compensation
-
Our compensation philosophy honors the multidimensional nature of our team and accounts for the competitive talent marketplace. Performance rewards include annual bonuses and salary increases. We also offer sales and referral bonuses.
- 401(k) Retirement Plan
-
Employees are immediately able to contribute to a 401(k) with a company match of 50% of employee contributions up to 6% of total salary, a total of 3% annually. We support both traditional and Roth IRAs.
- Annual ESOP Allocation
-
The ESOP is a tax-qualified retirement plan. Annually, contributions are made by Propeller and decided by the Board of Directors based on the financial performance of the firm. Historically, contributions equal 4-8% of base salaries.
- Phone & Travel Reimbursement
-
We reimburse up to $75 a month for phone, data charges, or the purchase of hardware to offset phone use for Propeller purposes, plus mileage reimbursement for client-related travel.
- Home Office Budget
-
We offer new employees up to $500 toward home office expenses to ensure employees have the equipment they need to be successful in their work. This includes items such as monitors, desks, chairs, printers, and other home office items.
- For Pets & Children
-
Employees have the option to purchase voluntary pet insurance for their furry friends. Additionally, employees can set up a 529 college savings plan which allows for tax-free withdrawals to cover college expenses.
- Growth & Professional Development Budget
-
Employee learning and professional development are important and supported through an annual growth benefit of $5,250 for professional development, tuition reimbursement, and student loan repayment.
- On-Going Learning & Firm-Sponsored Training
-
Propeller has a holistic learning and development strategy that also includes internal training, defined learning journeys, and educational opportunities including micro-learning sessions curated by our own consultants.
- Leadership Development Opportunities
-
Our goal is to develop future Propeller leaders in an intentional, equitable, and measurable way. Through our year-long Leadership Readiness Program, we provide mentorship, training, and coaching to prepare participants for future leadership opportunities.
- Coaching & Mentorship
-
In addition to one-on-one support from a performance manager, we offer a coaching and mentorship program to support employees in upskilling and growing in targeted areas. Becoming a mentor is a great opportunity to stretch leadership skills.
