A global retailer was tasked with delivering an end-to-end organizational transformation and operationalizing the new structure across various global departments. This transformation required close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders, maintaining a high level of confidentiality, and ensuring flawless data accuracy across systems like Workday and Orgvue. Originally scoped for an 8-week project affecting 1,000 employees, the timeline was drastically reduced to 2.5 weeks, with the scope expanded to over 20,000 employees. The company needed to adapt swiftly to new operational models while maintaining consistency and the highest standards of Workday data integrity, which was crucial to the success of this transformation.


Our Approach
# Embedding HR and Building Workday-Connected Tools
When Propeller joined the project, the foundational systems and project plans were already in place, but these were designed for a much smaller scale and longer timeline. Propeller updated these plans to accommodate the accelerated timeline and 20x increase in employees impacted. Consultants worked directly in Workday and Orgvue to model and validate employee scenarios, ensuring complete coverage and proper auditing of special cases.
Propeller also integrated a new operational model for the HR team, which brought the People Solutions team into the process more deeply to expedite service-level agreements and leverage their expertise. Additionally, Propeller developed a new Smartsheets tool linked to Workday data to manage global scheduling, providing a centralized source of truth for business leaders and improving accuracy in reporting to senior leadership. These changes allowed the team to adapt quickly and maintain the highest standards of data integrity.
