# A Roadmap to Transform Technology Organization

An American workwear and apparel company was experiencing substantial year-over-year growth, leading to challenges across its core systems, digital experience, and business scalability. As a result, the company needed a partner to develop a comprehensive roadmap to transform its technology organization to meet the demands of the company and its customers.

To address this challenge, Propeller provided a team of experts in retail, technology, change, and strategy to work directly with the client's CIO to develop a five-year strategic roadmap capable of scaling as the business grows.

Our Approach

# Path to Organizational Agility and Excellence

Propeller's approach included three key elements: developing a new operating model, creating a supportive organizational structure, and formulating a change and implementation strategy. The main objective was to increase effectiveness and agility while focusing on employees and their internal customers. Over 17 weeks, we collaborated with the organization’s C-suite, executive team, and technology organization.

To begin, we completed a comprehensive gap assessment of the current state, which informed the new IT organization's vision, mission, strategy, operating model, and structure. Then, we built a multi-year roadmap based on the organization's maturity journey. This roadmap outlined the transition to a product model and agile working methodology while updating processes and governance models. It also specified the necessary resources and capabilities needed to facilitate this transformation. In the past, the organization failed to transition to a new operating model due to insufficient support. To address this, we created a change management strategy to gain buy-in, identify issues, and support the successful implementation of the new operating model.
