Program Update: New Application Process Launched

In 2023, we established a new application process for nonprofits requesting pro bono consulting, direct service, or professional development workshops with scheduled application time periods communicated twice per year. This new application cycle process allows us to streamline incoming requests and more efficiently support our partners when we identify the right consultants for the projects. We can maximize our resources for supporting nonprofit partners throughout the year and are now positioned to deliver higher-quality work.

Pro Bono Project Highlights

About JoyRx: Since 1995, JoyRx has led the way in treating the mental well-being of kids facing significant medical journeys. They prescribe Joy through programs that create immediate and measurable improvement to the mental and emotional wellness of seriously ill children.

What We Did: Propeller facilitated discovery sessions to document the current ways of working and processes of JoyRx's Brand Marketing team and their internal partners. The outcome was a themed summary of their existing challenges, a current state process map, and a strategic roadmap to guide them toward achieving their desired future state.

Our Nonprofit Partners' Experiences

"I have had several pro bono engagements with firms and individuals. Most of the time, you feel like a pro bono client. And we did not. I felt like a paid client--getting attention. I didn't feel like an afterthought or some charity work."

“Our team can become jaded regarding trainings, but this one really hit the mark. So much so, there is an express desire for a similar or same training for our line managers, and an express desire for an expanded or follow up workshop on having difficult conversations.”

“Your culture is palpable. Everyone seems genuinely happy to be there, authentic, and all coming from diverse backgrounds."

"This was a great way to vision how to overcome barriers to the challenges I've been facing in my department."

“I've done strategic planning 3 times, and this was the best instance I have ever had!”

“Thank you for all your support over the last 8 weeks. Wow! I really enjoy working with you all and would love to discuss opportunities to continue to work together.”

“The consultants were amazing to work with and truly made our environment feel safe and inclusive, representing our goals as an organization.”

“I can’t tell you how much we appreciate your work, especially the flexibility in changing up the project at the last second and really providing us with the resources we needed at that moment. You added so much capacity in that space! We are so grateful for all of your time and all of the specialized tools you created for us!”
